Unit Bio

The Nursing Float Pool is the department for CNA’s that are seeking a challenge and would like exposure to a broad range of patient acuity levels. The CNA joining the Float Pool is looking to gain or build upon a broad range of clinical skills and knowledge base.

Ability to float between Medical-Surgical Units with focus of Cardiac and Post-Surgical diagnoses, as well as our Special Care unit; which provides great exposure to specialties while continuing to expand your experience and skills

Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant – Acute Care role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience: Relevant experience preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistant Apprentice (CNA)- Earn While you Learn!

Free Tuition and Earn While you Learn – applicants hired into the program are paid while in the course and are eligible for benefits in exchange for a one-year work commitment. Wednesday, October 22 | 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 5 | 6-7 p.m. Thursday, October 30 | 11a.m.-12p.m. At the information session, you will have a chance to register for consideration into the program. A representative will reach out to you to schedule a time to take the CASAS exam, which must be passed at the 9th grade reading level. Once you have passed the CASAS exam, you will be eligible to apply & interview for the position at your closest location. Program is 4-5 days a week for 6 weeks.
