Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. Required:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license
BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required by the end of unit orientation
ACLS required within 6 months of hire for KCC Critical Care Unit, Interventional Radiology, and Weisberg Special Procedure Suite

Preferred:

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing preferred
Oncology experience preferred

The Supervisor will adjust and allocate nursing assignments to meet the needs of the department. The Supervisor will assure the reporting, handling, and documentation of all patient incidents, variances in patient care, issues related to substandard quality of care, safety issues, and actual or potential litigation or media situations, occurring during their shift. The Supervisor will keep management and staff informed of work related matters on a regular basis. Clinical The Supervisor will function as a role model and mentor to all staff. The Supervisor may assist with all aspects of patient care on an as-needed basis. The Supervisor will be knowledgeable with all equipment, supplies, forms and procedures utilized on the nursing units. (or unit specific, as applicable) Customer Service The Supervisor will be constantly aware of who our customers are-patients, patient families, physicians and anyone requiring the services of McLaren Macomb.
