Certified Nursing Assistant – Hospice

Location: Longview, WA

Schedule: Per Diem/Relief, Variable shifts (0.00 FTE)

Salary Range: $22.04 – $33.10 per hour (based on experience, education, training, and collective bargaining agreement terms)

At PeaceHealth, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered hospice care to patients and families during life’s most meaningful moments. We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Hospice team in Longview, WA, on a per diem/relief basis.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, within CNA licensure scope.
  • Assist with personal care needs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, and hydration.
  • Perform basic clinical skills, including taking vital signs, recording fluid intake/output, applying dressings, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
  • Support mobility by helping patients walk, exercise, and transfer safely.
  • Stock patient rooms and supply areas to ensure care needs are met.
  • Accurately document patient care activities and assist with clerical tasks as needed.
  • Deliver care with compassion, dignity, and respect for patients and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
  • Current Washington State CNA license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Food Handler’s Permit required upon hire.
  • One year of CNA experience preferred, ideally in an acute care or hospice setting.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Description Job Description PeaceHealth is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant- Hospice for a Part Time, 0.60 FTE, Night position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $23.03 – $34.59. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. Job Summary Assists professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, using skills and knowledge in basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Essential Functions Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure. Perform basic technical skills which may include: CPR; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording fluid intake/output; applying dressings; recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions; administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
