Job Description

The Hospice RN Supervisor assists with administrative management of Hospice and coordinates the clinical services for staff working in the Lynchburg, Bedford, and Farmville service areas. Responsibilities include development of the staff under a case managed philosophy and maintaining quality patient and family care within regulatory guidelines and the Hospice philosophy. The Supervisor monitors compliance of department standards for documentation, performance improvement initiatives, quality patient safety initiatives, and infection control. The RN supervisor precepts, monitors, supports, and coaches staff to guide and direct performance and to retain staff.

Qualifications

Required Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Preferred Education: Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from accredited School of Nursing

Required Experience: At least three (3) years of healthcare experience and is detailed-oriented

Preferred Experience: Two (2) years of management experience

Required Certifications and Licensures: Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse. Hold a current, active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) course completion card.

Preferred Certifications and Licensures: Holds National Hospice Certification and willing to pursue Case Manager certification and/or participating in Centra Leadership Development Programs
