DAY TO DAY AS A MED TECH - MEDICATION AIDE

As a Med Tech - Medication Aide, you are a crucial part of our healthcare team. Your primary focus is ensuring that our residents receive the care and attention they deserve. You are passionate about helping others and take pride in helping to maintain the dignity and privacy of our residents. You find joy in assisting with personal and medical needs, and you know that your work helps residents maintain their independence.

You have the opportunity to administer medications, including injections for diabetic residents, and provide other medical support. You're responsible for changing dressings and performing skin care. You go home each day knowing that you have made a meaningful impact in the lives of our assisted living residents!

Schedule: PM shift, 2:00 pm- 10:30 pm.


WHAT MATTERS MOST

The knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • A current AZ Caregiver Certificate and CPR/First Aid card
  • A current fingerprint clearance card and food handler's card
  • A current negative TB result
  • Ability to complete a designated training program as prescribed by the LPN Resident Care Coordinator or supervisor
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior residents, families, supervisors, and employees
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, twist, and reach as well as to stand for long periods of time
  • Physical ability to assist in lifting and transferring assisted living residents

As a Certified Medication Aide, working with the Director of Nursing, you will impact the lives of our residents by – Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution to residents. Follow individualized plan of care for all residents. Perform resident evaluations as required by the state standards/regulations and facility policy, under the direction of the Director of Nursing. Observe residents for change in condition and report any changes immediately to supervisor and/or the Executive Director.
