Urodynamics Nurse (LPN)

A Brief Overview
The Physician Office Urodynamics Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care as reflected in the SC LPN scope of practice including health data collection, administering medications, implementing patient interventions, assessing patient responses, and basic health teaching.

What you will do
  • Performing urodynamics testing procedures
  • Prepare and maintain urodynamic equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to infection control standard
  • Perform medication pre-authorizations and refill requests
  • Provide follow-up to lab results and medication changes
  • Assist physicians with patient set-up and preparations. Room patients and performing data collections, vitals, EMR input
  • Perform nurse visits and patient education
  • Triaging incoming phone calls
  • Sending outgoing referrals and managing fax in-box / distributing faxes to proper staff
  • Ordering / managing general inventory and office supplies
  • Assist with staff training
  • Check-in and check-out when needed

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience as an LPN Preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities
  • Possesses skills and abilities required in a multifaceted environment in addition to those related to nursing
  • Computer knowledge

Licenses and Certifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Required
  • Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Required

A Brief Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular is responsible for the provision of nursing services based on standards of care and professional nursing practice prescribed in nursing education, TH orientation and education as well as TH policy and protocol. The Cardiovascular RN provides direct nursing care to both in and out-patients during cardiac stress testing, transesophageal echocardiograms, tilt table tests, electrical cardioversion, and other procedures performed in the Cardiology Service Line. The Cardiovascular RN utilizes a high level of knowledge of cardiac or chemical stress testing and effectively communicates issues with physicians. The RN will interpret data received before the procedure and use nursing judgment that is in line with safety protocols. The Cardiac Nurse must be self-directed and act independently and intervene as appropriate to resolve issues. The Cardiovascular RN is responsible for implementing the philosophy, objectives, standards of care, policies, and procedures of Cardiac Services under the supervision of the Cardiologist. In addition, the nurse monitors on-going needs of patients to ensure efficient and effective access to services and apprises radiologists and supervisory personnel of patient(s) status; provides viable and innovative solutions to problems; attends meetings/training, adheres to approved policy/procedures, represents the hospital in a professional manner, makes effective presentations. The nurse proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise. Attends hospital wide meetings to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines as they pertain to Cardiology Service Line, the nurse facilitates the guidance of individuals through the Cardiology Service Line to ensure they understand their procedures, treatment and immediate follow up care after procedure and completes other direct service RN duties as assigned.
