The Licensed Practical Nurse shall be responsible for applying skills and techniques common to the practice of vocational nursing to patients between the ages of the newborn and the elderly.  The Licensed Practical Nurse functions under the supervision of the physician and performs assigned tasks related to patient care.  The work is performed in compliance with the established policies of the clinic.


Education:  Graduate from approved School of  Licensed Practical Nursing.

Experience: Desirable characteristics include at least one year of experience as an R.N., preferably in the area of application.  Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.  Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

Licenses/Certificates: Must possess a current Alabama license as Licensed Practical Nurse.  Must obtain and maintain a current certification in CPR.
