Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Nurse Extern to join our team. As our Nurse Extern you will perform a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) in a complementary and assistive roleWe are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. Your tasks and responsibilities may include:

· You will obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood glucose levels, intake and output, and calorie counts.

· You will document observations, interactions, patient responses to performed activities, and any physical or behavioral changes at time of occurrence. 

· You will obtain or assist in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests. 

· You will ensure accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.

· You will provide or assist with non-medicated support care, including non-sterile dressing changes, skin protection, application of heat or ice, and venous compression devices.

· You will assist with patient preparation for surgery or other procedure.

Qualifications

· Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing required

· Current AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support) required on all clinical nursing units. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required for Behavioral Health.

· 1+ years of nursing school completed preferred
