Surgical Technologist 4-10 Hour Shifts - No Weekends or Holidays!

Under the direction of a registered professional nurse, assists with surgical procedures; provision of therapeutic, preventive and emergency patient care duties; and preparation, operation and maintenance of routine and complex equipment, instruments, and supplies. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Places equipment and supplies in operating room and arranges instruments according to
2. Assists team members to place and position patient on table.
3. Scrubs arms and hands and dons gown and gloves, and aids team to don gowns and gloves.
4. Maintains supply of fluids, such as sterile saline, sterile water, etc.
5. Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, cuts sutures, and performs other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.
6. Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
7. Washes and sterilizes equipment and cleans operating room.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. Will be required to lift objects that weigh more than 50 pounds.
2. Must be able to exert at least 25 pounds of force to assist with moving of patients.
3. Be able to stand, bend, and stoop, and/or sit within a confined area for prolonged periods of time, up to 6 to 8 hours.
4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
5. Dexterity: Frequent repetitive motion of hands/wrist involved.
6. Will be working in a clean, well-lighted area.
7. May be required to deal with unpleasant environmental situations resulting from patient care or patient activity.
8. Hazards and Risks: Direct patient contact with possible exposure to communicable diseases, exposure to radiation, and CRT.
