The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) works on an “as needed” basis to support providers, nurses, and the BrightCare clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is essential in helping our clients remain safe, comfortable, and healthy in their homes through skilled assistance and compassionate service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of in-home primary health care and patient care management.

  • Perform selected clinical and administrative duties, including preparation of patients and/or equipment for treatments.

  • Measure and record vital signs, discuss and document health concerns and patient histories.

  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the provider and in accordance with BrightCare policy.

  • Perform routine medical testing and ensure accurate documentation.

  • Maintain inventory of patient care supplies and equipment, including sterilization when necessary.

  • Accurately update and maintain patient files, records, and charts following BrightCare Home Care procedures.

  • Provide prompt and courteous assistance to all patients, families, and caregivers—whether in person, by phone, or electronically.

  • Collaborate with providers and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support patient well-being and agency operations.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.

  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

  • Familiarity with standard medical protocols, terminology, and patient care practices.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare experience, preferably in home care, community health, or clinical settings.
