Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Key Responsibilities Provides medical care to inmates, including conducting exams, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds. Maintains accurate and legible progress note documentation in SOAP format and adheres to formulary guidelines. Responds to emergencies and makes logical decisions regarding non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals. Supports existing policies and procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals. Maintains confidentiality and provides input into facility committees as requested. CoreCivic is currently seeking Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner PRN (as needed basis) who have a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional setting. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner PRN (as needed basis) is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric services to incarcerated individuals within a correctional facility and with a collaborating physician. This includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric disorders and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services within a medical home model. The successful applicant should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements: Psychiatric Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of incarcerated individuals to determine the presence and severity of mental health disorders.
