Provides basic nursing care under the directions of the Registered Nurse. Education: Vocational/Technical degree in Practical Nursing required. Certification/License : Louisiana LPN license required. CPR required. ACLS preferred. Additional Experience Preferred One year of LPN experience preferred. One year of Behavioral Health experience preferred. De-escalation training Current knowledge of clinical practice Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex equipment. Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for adult patients. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of theory, principles, techniques, and practice of professional nursing; of scientific principles and nursing research; of preparation, administration, and actions of medications; of treatments and medical procedures; of counseling and teaching techniques; of medical equipment as it relates to patient care.
