Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an Operating Room Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center who demonstrates the values of our company by caring like family. You will be an amazing addition to our team by contributing your expertise in the circulating or scrub role. You will ensure safe and effective nursing care until your patient is transferred from your care to recovery.

What you will do in this role:

Oversee the instrument and equipment set-up for your OR, including utilization of preference cards and ability to anticipate your surgeon’s needs
Coordinate and oversee your room during a case as the circulator
You will facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures
Utilize appropriate body mechanics in moving your patients to stretchers and OR tables to prevent injury
Manage your patients care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia
Consistently review your charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure

Qualifications you will need:

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure
Valid BCLS Certification upon employment ***online certification not acceptable
ACLS as required by facility
CNOR certification preferred

Red Rocks Surgery Center is located in Golden, Colorado. Red Rocks Surgery Center is a multi-specialty surgery center. We perform a broad range of outpatient and short stay procedures. Our center performs over 300 cases a month. The services offered are dental, ENT, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, podiatry, reconstructive, and urology. Here is some of what you can expect from being a n OR Registered Nurse with us: You will bring your OR Nurse specialized skills to serve specific age groups, which may include adult, adolescent, geriatric, or pediatric populations . You will prepare for each procedure and/or surgery by ensuring there is adequate stock, and appropriate equipment available in areas as assigned. You will assist with post procedure workload including cleaning room between procedures, putting away all unused supplies & setting up for the next procedure. You will teach, supervise, and serve as a resource person and delegates in accordance with the competency level of all staff members. You may rotate to areas other than OR, and will perf orm only those duties that you have demonstrated competency. What qualifications you will need: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license . Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing . BSN preferred. One (1) year minimum experience in the perioperative ( OR) setting is required . ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire. CNOR preferred.
