Position Summary:

The Per Diem Float Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care across multiple hospital units as needed, including Medical/Surgical, ER, Long-Term Care, Transitional Rehab, and Geriatric Behavioral Medicine. This role demands flexibility, clinical competence, and the ability to adapt quickly to different care settings and patient populations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
  • Provide patient and family education and emotional support
  • Document nursing care accurately and timely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working across different hospital units as staffing needs require

Qualifications:

  • Current Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Minimum of 3 year of clinical nursing experience preferred in ER, Acute Care Setting, and Float
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred or required depending on unit assignment
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptability to work varied shifts and different unit environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients as needed
  • Ability to perform physical assessments and handle emergency situations
