Job Summary

As a Lactation Consultant RN, you'll create a breastfeeding plan. Educate parents and staff, update protocols, provide consultation. Ensure infants and parents are well by guiding them in breastfeeding.

What You'll Do

  • Encourage breastfeeding for infant health. Offer consultations, materials, and classes to help parents and medical team.
  • Evaluate parent and baby interest in breastfeeding.
  • Provide specialized help for mothers. Offer bedside consultations and follow-up visits in hospital.
  • Keep the medical staff updated, providing education about breastfeeding protocols, care plans, and recent information.
  • Document all the teachings and responses, and communicate these findings to the relevant staff members.
  • Regularly assess the efficiency of the breastfeeding program and make necessary changes if required.
  • Participate in collecting data and reporting on neonatal outcomes, specifically those related to breastfeeding.
  • Provide parents with information and demonstrations about breast pump rentals or purchases, if required.

  • Associate degree, in nursing.
  • A minimum of (2) two years of experience in Lactation Consultant and Mother/Baby (level III or higher) RN experience.
  • Texas RN.
  • BLS.
  • Certified Lactation Consultant or International Lactation Certification. CLC: Certified Lactation Consultant OR IBCLC: International Lactation Certification.

Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for a specific assigned group of patients. The North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients through adolescence. What you will do in this role: Assess the patients condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
