The duties of the Aide are planned and assigned by a professional member of the health care team to meet the needs of the patient and family situation. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Provides a sense of security for the patient and performs personal cares while respecting the dignity, comfort and privacy of the patient at all times. Provides physical and emotional support to the patient and family unit. • Adapts to changes in the scheduling process to meet the needs of the patient. • Accepts direction in a positive manner, eliminates assumptions, exhibits effective listening skills and follows through with instructions given. • Adheres to strict patient confidentiality standards as mandated by HIPAA. • Utilizes supplies in a safe, proficient, effective and orderly fashion. • Documents tasks performed accurately and in a timely manner in the patients’ clinical record.
