Spectrum Healthcare Resources along with TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a Lead Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) in Fairfield County Sheriffs Office in Lancaster, Ohio. The LPN will be providing Correctional Medical care for those housed at the Fairfield County Jail.

Position Highlights:

  • Full-time Night (12 hr shifts) or Part-time available ...Pay differential 
  • We staff from 6p-6a / 3 days a week with every other weekend. (Required to work every-other-weekend)
  • Adult population

Position Requirements:

  • Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN
  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months
  • MUST have experience in Lead management or Correctional facility 
  • Active, unrestricted OH LPN license
  • BLS from the American Heart Association

Job Duties:

  • Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care
  • Free from coding, billing, insurance, satisfaction surveys, ICD-10 and DRGS
  • Care is evidence based. We address needs, not wants
  • Vast array of medical pathology that is not seen in any one other healthcare location
  • Work is socially meaningful as patients are a socially marginalized and lack ordinary access to medical care whether due to lack of insurance, mental illness or homelessness (**for anyone interested in addiction medicine or mental health)
  • Large degree of medical autonomy and free of micromanaging. Extensive nursing guidelines in place.
  • Safer than most other healthcare settings as –weapons are forbidden, controversial inmates dealt with by correctional staff (safety and security takes precedence), inmates are punished for acting out, visits can be stopped at any time and restarted at a later date/time
