Surgical Technologist?

As the Surgical Technologist, you will be an active member of the team in the Operating Room.

You will function under the direct supervision of the OR nurse. You will be responsible for the sterile field, instrumentation, sterile technique, and other tasks required during the procedure.

What you will do in this role:

You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.

You will promote customer service initiatives.

You will function as scrub person during operative procedures.

You will demonstrateability to perform technical skills and procedures.

You will assist in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned

You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.

What qualifications you will need:

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program or equivalent training.

Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.

Surgical technologist students may be hired prior to graduation (within 3 months of graduation). Upon graduation, verification of completion of requirements will be verified. Failure to complete graduation requirements can result in termination of the position.

Detail-oriented with ability to sustain concentration over long periods of time.

Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 pounds

BLS certification (new employees have up to 90 days from date of hire to obtain the American Heart Association BLS for healthcare providers)

Job Summary and Qualifications Surgical Technologist OB Certified The role of the OB Scrub Tech on the Center for Women’s Health/ NICU unit is to provide care under the direction of the Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator/Supervisor, and the Director. The OB Tech provides care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Frankfort Regional Medical Center and professional organizations, and in support of the mission of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. What you will do in this role: : Scrubs for surgical procedures including but not limited to: cesarean sections and tubal ligations Attend and assist providers in vaginal deliveries Responsible for checking, cleaning, and restocking the operating suite(s) and labor rooms including warmers Set-up surgery rooms as needed. Pull, set-up, and charge for cases as needed. Assist unit secretary with ordering of supplies for the obstetrical unit. Perform patient care duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse these may include but are not limited to: vital signs; assisting patients with ambulation, showers, etc.; transporting patients; newborn baths; changing bed linens; and picking up food trays. Greets and interacts with patients, significant others, visitors, or guests in a cheerful, courteous, positive manner at all times.
