Palm Point is currently recruiting for Full Time/Part Time/Per Diem Registered Nurse.  The Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care for all patients on the Child, Adolescent and Adult Units.  The Nurse is in charge of the unit activities for each shift.  The Nurse supervises the Mental Health Techs working on the unit, administers prescribed medications and participates in educational groups.

Qualifications

Education:  Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Experience: Prefer one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse.  Prefer six (6) months in psychiatric nursing.  Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration.

Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.  Current AHA BLS Certification required or obtained before direct patient care.

Nurse Manager - Operating Room

Job Requirements Position Summary: To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by planning, directing and assessing all unit functions to include evaluation of patient care on a 24-hour basis on an assigned unit. Additional functions include participation in the development of policies and procedures for the Department of Patient Care Services, implementation of Health First policies and objectives, interview and selection of personnel, budget preparation, and cost effective operations, scheduling and assignment of personnel, employee performance appraisals, quality improvement activities, counseling and disciplinary actions as needed, at all times serving as clinical and professional role model to staff and contributing to their professional growth and development. Primary Accountabilities: Quality/No Harm: Utilizing the behavioral interview process, selects staff with qualifications that are appropriate to the needs of the unit. Clinical standards are met within three months of employment. Conducts disciplinary conferences for individuals not following hospital policy/procedure or whose actions necessitate corrective action. Documents individual counseling and disciplinary actions with employee at all times. Conducts timely and periodic performance appraisals based on pre-established standards. Ensures competence and education of associates in designated field. Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and other organizational and regulatory agency standards with quality indicators and core measures. Performs those clinical skills within the scope of practice of a registered nurse in the state of Florida for which competencies have been validated Customer Experience: Responsible for Patient Experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores for specific unit Ensures consistent performance of purposeful hourly or team rounding, bedside shift report and no pass zones. Supports the Health First Philosophy Associate supports engagement through adherence to the I-CARE commitments and Health First Philosophy Stewardship: Ensures cost effective unit operations within budgetary expectations and corporate financial goals Processes requests with justification for additional unit needs outside of established targets to the Department Director Monitors ordering of unit supplies and equipment with adequate inventory of supplies for unit needs Assures all equipment on the unit is operable and safe Assumes 24-hour accountability for unit activities Prepares and adjusts 24-hour staffing plan based on unit census and acuity on a daily basis. Ensures schedules are completed on time and in compliance with approved staffing plan. Serves as role model for all unit staff by setting an example of high standards in conduct, attitude, performance and patient/family relations Work Experience Qualifications Required: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing BSN required - conditional and time limited waiver for BSN requirement may apply to internal associates who complete their BSN within 3 years of transition to new role (grand-father provision) Licensure: Current Florida RN license or endorsement Certification: Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain National certification in relevant specialty or in Nurse Administration preferred Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care clinical experience preferred Previous nursing management experience preferred Meets all qualifications required in RN job description Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have knowledge of TJC (The Joint Commission), Florida Nurse Practice Act and other applicable agency regulations Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language Sound organizational skills to include time management and problem solving Highly developed communication skills, verbal and non-verbal Maintains professional competencies by attending continuing education programs and participates in professional organizations Basic computer skills utilizing the windows environment Must be able to speak and understand written and verbal instructions in the English language Physical REQUIREMENTS: Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks Good physical condition and without assistance must be able to lift, push, or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
