Responsibilities

The Certified Surgical Technician will be responsible for a variety of technical and routine tasks that facilitate the patient's care.
This position delivers care in a prompt and professional manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect.
The Technician works as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support departmental objectives.
Prepares for the pre-assigned cases using physician preference.
Setting up the operating room before surgery.
Opens supplies/instruments utilizing an aseptic technique.
Pass instruments to surgeons during surgery.
Follows established policies and procedures as it relates to counting sponges, instruments, etc.
Initiates corrective action when counts are incorrect.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and communicate effectively with the team to ensure quality of patient care.
Perform any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
Surgical Technician Certification
Meet the NJ requirements under the Surgical Technologist law to be considered for this opportunity

Preferred Job Requirements:

1 year of surgical scrub experience
