Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) who assesses consumers and documents pertinent information including Triage, Behavioral Health, Physical Health, and/or Substance Abuse issues. Demonstrates knowledge of Crisis Intervention and the ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations and will provide education to consumers and their families regarding Behavioral Health diagnosis, medications, and treatments.

  • Completes detailed Nursing Assessments with individuals and documents pertinent information including Triage, Medical/Behavioral Health assessments, and medication administration utilizing appropriate assessment tools. Accurately record all medication brought in by individual on medication reconciliation/storage form.
  • Plans individual treatment as part of the Multidisciplinary Clinical team.
  • Provides education concerning Psychiatric diagnosis, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and all others involved in the individual’s care.
  • Intervenes with appropriate verbal interventions to diffuse out of control or potentially dangerous behaviors. Demonstrates ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and technique and can describe and demonstrate their roles and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Seclusion/Restraint standards, guidelines, techniques and initiates documentation and debriefing with individuals for any seclusion/restraint incidents as required.
  • Accurately transcribes Provider orders and administers medications as prescribed. Attempts to have individual sign medication consent form. Performs chart checks and signs off as a second noted on medications prescribed. Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered by Providers when required.
  • Completes nurse to nurse at discharge or when accepting individual from another facility.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Graduated from an accredited Nursing program
  • Unrestricted active license as Registered Professional Nurse through State Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilege
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques
  • Working on ASAM 3.7, the RN shall have competencies and experience in conducting an alcohol or other drug focused nursing assessment
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
  • State of Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Card

It would be great if you had:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • At least 1 year of psychiatric, behavioral health or relevant experience
  • Previous emergency room or crisis psychiatric care experience
  • Experience working with individuals with addiction and addiction management

JOB PURPOSE : The Registered Nurse serves as part of the team providing quality healthcare to El Rio Health patients. In this role, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care, both clinical and non-clinical within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse under the Arizona State Board of Nursing and policies and procedures set by El Rio Health. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process, collaborating with the physicians and interdisciplinary team members and provides physical and psychological support to patients and their families. The Registered Nurse works under the general supervision and review of the El Rio Health Center Manager or Associate Health Center Manager at the clinic where assigned. The Registered Nurse consults with a supervisor for resolution or direction for any work problems involving departures from the scope of practice, standard policies, interpretations, or procedures. Essential Job Functions: Triages walk-in patients to determine the need for healthcare services and the appropriate disposition of the patient using appropriate assessments guidelines for adult and pediatric patients. Provides any first aid needed until the provider arrives. Maintains emergency supplies and mediations and checks them monthly for expiration dates. Replaces any outdated medication or equipment. Maintains weekly and monthly logs of inspection and testing of emergency equipment ensuring and maintaining compliance with all Joint Commission standards.
