This opportunity is full-time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a night shift schedule.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
• BLS (current upon hire)
• ACLS and/or required specialty training or course completion (or obtained within three months of employment) in required specialty.
• Current Florida nursing license.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Role and Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility and accountability for coordinating the activities and providing clinical and administrative leadership and expertise in one or more defined areas of the facility. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes.  Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals.  Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Understands that patient-centered care provides the foundation for all nursing activities. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Responds to Inpatient Stroke Alerts, performs NIHSS and bedside swallow, documents as required. Assists with telemedicine examination/evaluation of thrombolytic therapy inclusion/exclusion criteria, assists the ICU nurse mixing, administration and monitoring of thrombolytic therapy if patient deemed a candidate, preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated and assumes patient care of the inpatient stroke alert.

Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke related training annually.

Requirements 

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. BSN preferred.
• Current Florida state nursing license.
• Certification in area of specialty preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years experience in acute care specialty nursing. One (1) to three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire) as required by specialty.
