Foundation Health Partners is seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our highly experienced team at the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Wound & Ostomy Clinic.   

The Opportunity:

Join our dedicated team at the outpatient Wound and Ostomy Clinic at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where you'll play a key role in providing individualized, evidence-based care. This position offers the opportunity to manage acute and chronic wounds and provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative ostomy care. You'll be supported by experienced physicians and certified wound care nurses who are highly invested in their work and our patients.

  • Compensation: Pay starts at $82.76/hr and increases with experience.
  • Schedule: M-F outpatient clinic. Flexible per diem scheduling. No call, no nights, no weekends.
  • Patient Panel: Outpatient setting focusing on acute and chronic wound management, ostomy care, and patient education.
  • Team: Work alongside a collaborative and highly experienced team, including a robust PRN provider staff with 70+ years of combined experience. Our medical director provides strong leadership and support, contributing to a professional and positive work environment.

Per Diem Staff are eligible for:

Qualifications

Must possess knowledge of clinical care and patient treatment as normally obtained through the completion of master’s degree in nursing.

Must be approved to practice as a Family NP (FNP) by the State Board of Nursing by proof of license/certification.

Requires current RN license in state of practice. Must be certified to practice by the State Board of Nursing within a particular population as a nurse practitioner. Requires personal DEA license or must have prescribing and dispensing authority granted by the state board of nursing. Additional technical and professional certifications may be required based on type of nurse practitioner and scope of delineation document under medical staff services for an individual facility.

Exhibits an exemplary professional demeanor and interpersonal relationship skills.

Demonstrates proficiency in computer applications and database management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

DNP or PhD preferred. Current BLS certification preferred. A minimum of 3 years previous relevant experience preferred.

Nurse Practitioner - Wound Care, PRN

General Position Summary: Works in collaboration with Medical Director, and independently, to assess, plan and provide patient care, specifically in outpatient wound care, within the scope of the provider license. Orders, interprets and records results of clinical tests and takes appropriate action. Prescribes medication and orders relevant testing or forms of treatment and coordinated referrals as needed. Maintains an accurate, complete patient medical record. Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities: Obtain, compile, and record patient medical data within the scope of practice identified by the Board of Nurse Practitioners. A moderate degree of complexity to include mild to comprehensive medical decision making. Accurately perform physical examinations on patients with acute and chronic wounds. Assess, diagnose, and manage chronic conditions for patient population. Prescribes antibiotic therapy in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Communicates with Primary Care Physician (PCP), referral sources, home health agencies or office staff regarding changes in patient’s condition. Assess patient needs and qualifying criteria for Hyperbaric treatment. Maintains an accurate accounting of visits in the patients’ medical record. Completes patient medical record documentation within 24 hours. Contribute to the development of new services, programs, or processes. Administer medications, order diagnostic labs /tests, and perform basic procedures according to the training and needs of the patient and department.
