Responsibilities: Monitor and evaluate patient progress in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Identify and respond to sudden or subtle changes in patient conditions, ensuring timely intervention. Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families, providing regular updates on patient status. Administer medications and treatments, carefully monitoring dosage and patient response. Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions, alerting the medical team as needed. Provide comprehensive patient care throughout their ICU stay, ensuring comfort and well-being. Complete accurate and timely documentation, including patient records and transfer paperwork. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical directives. Utilize health information technology and electronic health records (EHR) to maintain accurate patient data. Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an ICU RN or Critical Care RN. Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact state). Proficiency in using health information systems and EHR. Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days and nights. Exceptional empathy, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-stress and emotionally demanding environment. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. CCRN certification preferred.
Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to emergency patients of all ages Triage patients quickly and efficiently using standardized protocols Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, responding appropriately to changes Administer medications, perform interventions, and assist in emergency procedures Document all care and communications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care Maintain a safe and organized environment in the ED Qualifications Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing) Licensure : Current South Carolina RN license or compact state equivalent Certifications : BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required or must obtain within 6 months PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred or must obtain per department guidelines TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred Experience : Emergency nursing experience preferred, but new grads with strong clinical rotations in ED are welcome to apply Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
