Substitute Registered Nurse

FLSA: Non-Exempt COMPENSATION SCHEDULE: Hourly PAY GRADE: Hourly SUPERVISOR: Principal or designee. SUMMARY: 1. Determines the health needs of incoming and returning students. 2. Provides the medical expertise on school, SPED and safety teams. 3. Provides for the health needs of students by managing medication administration and delivery of procedures that are required during the school day. 4. Trains and delegates to staff in order to provide coverage as needed. 5. Coordinates hearing and vision screenings. 6. Manages and obtains immunization records for all students. 7. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community school clientele. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides for the delivery and documentation of health service to students under the guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act, and district policies and procedures. 2. Teams with health care providers, parents and school personnel to identify, develop and implement applicable Plans that mitigate health-related obstacles to learning. 3. Coordinates staff development (including but not limited to universal precautions, child abuse prevention, infectious disease guidelines). 4. Serves as a knowledgeable resource on health related topics for staff and parents. 5. Reports to ACDHS or law enforcement as required. 6. Attends school meetings (school, nurse and district.) 7. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Current unrestricted RN license from the State of Colorado 2. CPR license (BLS for Health Care Providers) 3. CDE Special Services Provider License upon application 4. BSN required 5. Communication skills 6. Team Building 7. Teaching 8. Leadership skills 9. Self-Motivation 10. Organization REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired. 1. Minimum of one year nursing experience required. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 1. Heavy physical effort (lifting up to 50 pounds). 2. Computer entry. 3. Working with others. 4. Working alone. 5. Responding to emergencies requires occasional running.

Nurse Intern - District-Wide

FLSA : Non-Exempt SALARY SCHEDULE : Internship | Link to https://www.cherrycreekschools.org/Page/2906 PAY GRADE : Unpaid Internship SUPERVISOR : Director of Health Services SUMMARY : Student Nurse Practicums are coordinated with the University and the School District. Student Nurse Practicum placements are for those University and College students who are working toward a nursing degree. Student nurses are paired with school nurses based on nurse availability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. They do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only. Support school health services alongside the school nurse. [Daily, 30%] Promote student wellness. [Daily, 15%] Engage in health promotion activities. [Daily, 5%] Integrate community oriented nursing and community based nursing to safely care for individuals, families, and populations in the community.
