The Hospice Flex RN is dynamic depending on a regional office’s most urgent needs and can involve providing care to specific caseloads, completing visits for multiple case managers, assisting with new admissions and managing referrals, and participating in on-call rotations to ensure continuous patient care. A Registered Nurse in this position must possess strong assessment skills and a thorough understanding of disease processes, as well as the ability to manage symptoms proactively. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. The Hospice Flex RN must be able to work autonomously, handle various patient care scenarios with professionalism, and provide empathetic and compassionate care in emotionally challenging situations. Requirements A graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse through the Kentucky Board of Nursing or participating COMPACT state Board of Nursing. One year of general nursing experience is preferred. New nursing graduates will be considered. Skilled in nursing practice and able to maintain professionalism in moments of emotional stress. Provide care in a compassionate nature while serving a diverse population respectfully and professionally. Complies with accepted professional and ethical standards and principles. Understands and supports the hospice philosophy and principles of death and dying. Possesses and maintains current CPR certification. Requirements Is at least eighteen years of age and is a high school graduate or equivalent. Is currently a State Registered Nurse Aide through the State Board of Nursing. One year experience in hospital or nursing home setting, preferred. Proof of completion of recognized CNA training program. Has ability to read and follow written instructions and document given care. Satisfactory references from previous employers. Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision. Has empathy for the needs of the ill, frail, and impaired. Understands philosophy of hospice care and needs of the terminally ill. Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene. This position does not require the team member maintain a valid driver’s license or to drive a motor vehicle as a part of their regular assigned duties. Requirements Is a graduate of a Master’s Degree in a Nursing Program. APRN certification as Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
