Join our Summer Nurse Extern Program as a Patient Care Tech! You will work 40hrs/week this summer in our Float Pool and gain hands-on experience in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital. This is a temporary position that starts on June 2nd, 2025 and ends in mid to late August. You will also get the opportunity to shadow our current RNs in a specialty of your choice. APPLY TODAY! The Patient Care Technician (PCT) will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse. During the assigned work period, PCTs will collect patient data, complete personal care of the patient, perform point of care testing such as whole blood glucose, turn & position and/or mobilize patients, and assist with caring for the needs of assigned patients with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay. The PCT is trained to perform technical procedures such as blood draw and electrocardiography.
