What Infusion Nurse contributes to Cardinal Health Nursing is responsible for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, safe medication administration, mixing, and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Updates and maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Maintains a respectful cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods. Provide health counseling to students/staff regarding chronic illness, nutrition programs and positive lifestyles as appropriate. Perform various types of health screening assessment activities and cooperates with other district screenings, make recommendations, and do follow-up based on the results of these screenings. Follow time schedules, attends and participates in all assigned meetings, and maintains a positive professional manner with students, parents and staff. Interact positively and appropriately with students and staff. Maintain confidentiality standards as defined by local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Other duties as assigned. EVALUATION Performance on this job will be evaluated by the School Principal in consultation with the Special Services Director in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of certified or classified personnel. SALARY SCHEDULE This position will be paid according to the approved Substitute & Temporary Salary Schedule. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Temporary, as needed.
