Registered Nurses (RN’s) provide age-specific quality nursing care to all patients through the nursing process and standards of nursing practice. RN’s plan, organize, coordinate, implement and evaluate nursing care daily; as well as supervise, document and provide guidance in performance of staff. These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year. Eligible for shift differential. Minimum Qualifications Considerable knowledge of professional nursing, supervising and administrative principles and practices; knowledge of legal requirements affecting nursing practices. Considerable skill in advanced nursing procedures specifically in an operating room/recovery room, med-surgical, psychiatric or geriatric field. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to evaluate program and staff performance, to develop standards of care and operational procedures, to perform patient assessment, to troubleshoot problems and to establish priorities. Additional Considerations Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is preferred. What will you do in this role: Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication. Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
