Overview

The RN is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of proficient, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and improve operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

The IU Health Methodist Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab is comprised of 3 labs staffed with Electrophysiology Cardiologists. The EP program provides patients with access to cutting-edge technology and research-based medicine. The lab team cares for adult cardiac patients using teamwork, strong critical thinking and quick interventions. The RN provides hands on care for patients undergoing electrophysiology cardiac procedures. In the EP lab nurses have the opportunity to use their nursing skills and experience to make an impact on our patient's lives.
Hours: 0700-1730 : Four 10 hour shifts rotating days off M-F. No weekends, No Holidays, No Call
Experience: 1-2 years ICU experience preferred, will consider 1-2 years of strong PCU experience
Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities
Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
