Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse through knowledge and ability, uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family. Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in a target population, and participates in the medical management of patients, to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease and reduce risk of illness. Engages in independent decision-making regarding the health care of individuals, families and groups across the lifespan and across the health care continuum. Reports to Nursing Director, Medical Director or Nurse Manager, or a matrix which may include Nurse Manager, Nursing Director, Medical Director, or some combination of those.
Qualifications
·RN with current Connecticut license required
·BSN preferred
·Experience in applicable specialty preferred
·New graduates to work under supervision per State guidelines
