Summary of Responsibility
In keeping with the Mission/Vision/Values of Centerstone, a Behavior Health Nurse - RN provides nursing care to chronically or acutely sick patients; provides medication monitoring, adjusts medications within limits prescribed by Staff Psychiatrist, and performs in liaison role between client and Staff Psychiatrist, lab, pharmacist, family or residential facility staff, and other community caregivers; provides information, education and support for clients; promotes wellness, recovery and skill building to sustaining better heath; prevention training in the areas of wellness, recovery, managing symptoms, making healthy life style choices, recognizing and responding to relapse, managing crisis and achieving and sustaining recovery. It is expected that the Behavioral Health Nurse - LPN function as an integral, cooperative member of the agency team of professionals and will provide outstanding internal and external customer service and maintenance of appropriate documentation.
A Behavior Health Nurse - RN is required to use independent (or works under the direction of supervisor) when performing job tasks/providing services. As part of Centerstone’s team-oriented philosophy, a Behavior Health Nurse - RN is expected to actively participate in variety of cross-functional teams and performance improvement initiatives.
MINIMUM CREDENTIALS/REQUIREMENTS
Position requires a registered nurse under the Nurse Practice Act.
Providers utilizing electronic health records and/or other automated/electronic documentation systems are required to have computer and keyboarding experience and skills or the ability to develop such skills within required timeframes in order to meet the level of proficiency set by the agency.
A Behavior Health Nurse - RN must meet Qualified Mental Health Professional status in relevant programs. All employees in the Behavior Health Nurse position must successfully complete required background checks and pre-employment screening.
