This opportunity is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide full-time, one-on-one care for a high school female student with complex medical needs. Located in Seattle, WA, this contract position involves supporting a student managing chronic respiratory failure, sleep apnea, and intractable Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, along with post-placement care of a Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS) device.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering albuterol inhaler treatments as prescribed
- Providing additional suctioning as needed to maintain airway clearance
- Monitoring the student’s respiratory status and overall health throughout the school day
- Collaborating with the healthcare team and school staff to ensure appropriate care and safety
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Current LPN or LVN licensure with relevant school nursing experience
- Proficiency in managing respiratory conditions and seizure disorders in pediatric populations
- Ability to work effectively one-on-one in a high school setting
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to student care
