  • The Info Session is on Wednesday, November 5 | 6-7 p.m.Click the link below at this date and time to join the info session.
  • Click here to Join 11/5 Info Session at 6PM
  • At the information session, you will have a chance to register for considerationintothe program.
  • A representative will reach out to you to schedule a time to take the CASAS exam, which must be passed at the 9thgrade reading level.
  • Once you have passed the CASAS exam, you will be eligible to apply & interview for the position at your closest location.

Program Information

  • Free Tuition and Earn While you Learn – applicants hired into the program are paid whileinthe course and are eligible for benefits in exchange for a one-year work commitment.
  • The programis 4-5 days a week for6 weeks. Lecture, hands-onskills lab andon-siteclinical training at the local hospital and/or nursing home.
    • Weeks 1-3:32 hours per week
    • Weeks 4-5:40 hoursper week
    • Week 6:32 hours per week

Summary

Under the supervision and direction of the Certified Nursing Assistant Program Instructor and/or Clinical Supervisor, Certified Nursing Assistant Preceptors, and/or long-term care facility’s Charge Nurses, the Apprentice - Certified Nursing Assistant role provides direct care to assigned residents/patients.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Must be accepted into an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program.

Job Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant partners with our residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care. 3 East is a 31-bed specialized unit, working with Alzheimer's/dementia residents, and tailoring care to meet their needs. Key aspects of this unit are the use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, understanding the difficult behaviors that are sometimes associated with residents that have Alzheimer's/Dementia, as well as understanding that these behaviors can be valid communications . It provides needed care to those residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment.
