On-Call Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Psychiatric Technician
Division/Program:
Merced Crisis Residential Unit
Starting Compensation:
30.00 - 32.00 USD Per Hour
Working Location:
Merced, CA
Working Hours/Shift:
On Call, Must be available minimum 4 days a month on call for either AM: 6AM-630PM or NOC: 6PM-630AM ($2 NOC Shift Differential)

What you bring to SBHG:
- Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required.
- Associate degree in nursing or social sciences preferred.
- (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of work experience.)
- (1) year medication administration experience preferred.
- Valid California LVN or LPT license required.
How you will make a difference:
- Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
- Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders.
- Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.
- Communicates pertinent information verbally and in writing to all team members.
- Assists in crisis intervention (including the use of Pro-ACT) and provides support and assistance in problem resolution. Uses Pro-ACT to appropriately intervene with assaultive/volatile clients.
- Reads and responds to company communications via email, telephone, or other selected mode within a reasonable timeframe.
- Logs into established company information sharing sites regularly to maintain current knowledge of changes in policy, procedure, events, etc..

- 24/7 inpatient voluntary program
- 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)
- Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
- Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
- Medication evaluation and support services
