Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with bathing, showering, dressing, and shaving

  • Providing medication reminders

  • Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises

  • Helping clients move safely throughout their home

  • Providing dementia care

  • Performing housekeeping tasks (e.g., vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, dishes, laundry, changing linens, bathroom cleaning)

  • Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions

  • Accompanying clients on errands and to medical appointments

  • Providing companionship (e.g., reading, music, puzzles, conversation)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Minimum of six months' experience as a HHA and/or PCA in a healthcare setting (home or facility)

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle or adequate transportation
