Job Summary
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care of adult patients undergoing Cardiac Catheterization procedures and pre-procedural care and recovery of Adult Invasive Cardiology Patients.
Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision.
Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
This position will be required to orient and flex for organizational need to cover all areas of the department including the Interventional Cardiac Catheterization labs, the Cardiac Electrophysiology labs, the Holding Room, and to our other location at St. Mary’s Medical Center as needed.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $89.02 - $115.34 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description
The cardiac catheterization laboratory is a specialized clinical area where minimally invasive procedures are performed to diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions. Using advanced imaging and catheter-based techniques, the team—comprising physicians, nurses, and technologists—performs diagnostic angiography, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), structural heart procedures, and hemodynamic assessments. The Cath Lab operates with a focus on rapid, precise care for both elective and emergent cardiac patients, supporting optimal outcomes through multidisciplinary coordination.

Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years of RN employment experience
- Three (3) years of directly relatable RN employment experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure
- Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work in all areas of the department (Cath/EP/Procedure room/Holding area)
- Previous RN experience with Pre and Post Procedure Care of Adult Interventional Cardiology patients
- Previous RN experience in an Adult Electrophysiology Labs.
- BSN
- RCIS and/or RCES certification
- Experience with GE MacLab/ComboLab
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association BLS Certification
- Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification
