POSITION SUMMARY:

Registered Nurse (RN) The Branches San Marcos Outpatient key responsibilities include but not limited to: Provide nursing care for psychiatric patients using the nursing process. To assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care. To  monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician. To ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies. Patients served include children, adolescents, and adults (18+) and geriatric (55+).


Qualifications

EDUCATION: Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Current Texas State Registered Nurse License. Current CPR or BLS certification. Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date. Is deemed a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP)

EXPERIENCE: One year of experience working in a psychiatric setting (preferred).

WORK HOURS:  8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday
