Assesses patient’s needs. Accurately analyzes the assessment data collected, identifies problem(s) and formulates appropriate nursing interventions.
Utilizes appropriate Standards of Care, policies and procedures in developing plan of care.
Institutes appropriate protective/preventative measures when indicated.
Identifies and provides appropriate education relevant to the patient’s plan of care during visit. Evaluates patient’s response to education and makes referrals to other disciplines when appropriate.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of actions/side effects of medications and administers medications safely.
Evaluates patient responses to treatments when they are completed.
Handles patient complaints.
Establishes patient payment schedules. Enter patient registration and discharge information.
Performs the correct posting of all insurance payments/charges and filing of all statements/claims. Ensures accurate procedure/diagnosis codes and adjustments to patient accounts.
Assists with the physician schedule, which includes on-call, in-office, and hospital schedules.
Contributes toward the revision of practice policies and procedures, job descriptions, and fee schedules as requested.
Requirements
Current Registered Nurse licensure in N.C.
3 years of medical office experience required, 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
BLS Certification by American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office and an electronic health record platform
Ability to make decisions independently and to resolve problems/conflicts in an effective manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Successful completion of a competency-based orientation, which includes age and population specific skills for the areas of practice in which The RN will be working and addresses the growth and development needs for the patients to whom the RN will be providing nursing care.
