Shift: Days

Pay: $38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary

Plans, coordinates, provides and evaluates American Heart Association related instructional programs and activities.

Responsibilities

Develops, implements and evaluates American Heart Association educational programs including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Pediatric Emergency Assessment.

Utilizes methods, measurements, and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.

Collaborates with managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competency of staff and new hires.

Serves as a consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

This is a teaching position for certifications such as ACLS, TNCC and ENA (those type of certifications are advanced and normally come from Critical Care and Emergency Nurses).

Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Certification as an AHA Instructor by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 3 months of hire. Relevant life support certification as determined at position level. 6 months of nursing experience.
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
