POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible to plan, implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients. Ensures patient care, safety standards, and documentation is carried out according to AORN standards, recommended practices, and guidelines. Receives direction from: Providers, Anesthesia providers, Nurse Manager. Gives direction to: Surgical Technician, Instrument technician, Materials Management Clerk. Call required.

EDUCATION:

Graduate of nursing program

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2 years experience as an OR RN, required

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

MT RN Licensure
ACLS, PALS, BLS or obtained within 6 months of hire
CNOR desired

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Basic Nursing Principles and Procedures.
Principles of Asepsis
Basic office skills - computer and keyboarding
